This apparatus is an automatic feeder that produces liquid nitrogen using a small cryogenic refrigerator and a nitrogen gas generator that continuously extracts nitrogen gas in the atmosphere and automatically feeds the liquid nitrogen to a superconducting magnet for NMR, an electronic microscope EDS detector, a Ge radiation detector, a freezing preservation container, and so forth.

The nitrogen gas generator is a nitrogen gas separation apparatus for continuously obtaining nitrogen gas from the air by PSA method utilizing molecular smoked charcoal for separating oxygen and nitrogen. The separation is performed utilizing a gas adsorption speed difference against MSC, an adsorbent. Oxygen gas, carbon dioxide gas, moisture, and the like in the air is adsorbed and removed in a short time period under pressurization. Nitrogen gas that is hardly adsorbed is efficiently extracted.
It is possible to desorb and regenerate an adsorbent with ease that has adsorbed oxygen gas and so on by decompression up to the normal pressure. By alternately pressurizing and decompressing two adsorbents, high purity nitrogen gas can be continuously obtained. The nitrogen gas produced in the nitrogen gas generator is transmitted to a liquid nitrogen container to be liquefied by the small cryogenic refrigerator (cold head). The liquid nitrogen container is always filled with nitrogen gas and liquefies nitrogen gas under the atmospheric pressure to preserve it in the container.
The amount of liquid nitrogen in the container is monitored by a liquid nitrogen level sensor. At a predetermined amount, the refrigerator automatically stops and below that amount, operation is automatically started. Liquid nitrogen can be automatically filled into apparatuses of two systems (standard) from a supply port at the upper part of a chassis. It is possible to externally take it out into an arbitrary container using an attached flexible hose.
